The house has a quirky layout, and it sits at the top of a very steep hill. Walking up was quite a workout for us oldies, though it's only about 1 km to the main area of Kalk Bay. We didn't spend much time at the B&B since we were meeting family. Yoliswa was friendly and did all she could to make our stay pleasant. Our room was clean and fresh, with comfortable beds. We had our own toilet and a separate bathroom along the corridor outside the room. Breakfast was more than enough and cooked to order, with fresh fruit and yogurt first. When we arrived, nobody answered the phone, door, or gate buzzer. Luckily, family were staying nearby, so we waited there until someone called to say we could come over.

We could walk to lots of nearby places, including Dalesbrook Tidal Pool and Kalk Bay. The rooms were beautiful and had amazing views. Staff were friendly, and there was a great breakfast selection for everyone.

The art and decor are wonderful, and the views are outstanding. It's a lovely little B&B, with friendly staff and an amazing breakfast cooked by Yoliswa. The owners also give back to the community through a local non-profit.

We arrived just before 12pm on the 18th of June, knowing it was before check-in, and only wanted to leave our bags. At the main gate, someone said over the intercom that they had no booking for us and were full. I showed her our voucher confirming the reservation through Expedia, but she said we should call Expedia and get our money back because they were full. She wouldn't even let us in to speak face to face. I said there must be a misunderstanding because we were booked to stay there, and she screamed that they were full and we should find somewhere else. Then she shouted, "Security tell those people they not coming in because we full". I tried calling the property several times afterward, but nobody answered. I can't believe this place is still in business. I'm horrified by how they treated us, and I'll never recommend them.

A real home from home, and good value too. It's a beautiful guest house with excellent breakfast. The staff will go out of their way to help, and St James, a blue flag beach, is only 2 mins away.
