Marco and Lena were very friendly, communicative and helpful, and had useful tips for making the most of Cape Town. The location is lovely, above the rooftops of the city, so this place works well for a city trip or a stopover. The rooms were clean, but didn’t meet my idea of a four-star standard. There’s no fridge or air conditioning, and the soundproofing is poor: the walls, door and windows are all thin. Guests are expected to stay in their rooms after dark out of consideration for others, as shown in the picture. With air conditioning, people could choose to sleep with the windows open or shut, while others enjoyed the balcony views and a glass of wine outside after dark. That restriction is a real pity and takes a lot away from the experience. Once it’s dark, the mood feels more like a youth hostel than a four-star hotel.

The rooms were beautiful and clean, and a good breakfast added to the stay. There’s a garden with a pool, and parking for about four or five cars before you enter. The hosts were welcoming and helpful throughout. It’s a quiet place at the top of a cul de sac, looked quite safe, and the room terrace has a city view.

Our host had great sightseeing and transport suggestions, and breakfast was good and served promptly. They also accommodated our gluten-free needs. It’s a lovely lodging house in a convenient part of town, with a comfortable, clean and functional room and a sitting and dining room available. I’d recommend it.

The owner is incredibly friendly and knows the town inside out. She gave excellent suggestions for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and for things to do. There’s even a whole manual in the room explaining the house and its surroundings. The apartments are very conveniently placed at the end of Kloof st. You can walk down the street and choose somewhere to eat, or head to a nearby supermarket if you’d rather cook. The white house in the picture is the one with the four available apartments.

A truly lovely guesthouse, with breathtaking views of Table Mountain, Signal Hill and the city.
