Cape Town Lodge Hotel

The rooms were lovely and very clean, with a big bathroom, soft bed and pillows, plenty of towels, and soft music playing when we walked in. They’re also accessible for disabled guests, with rails in the shower and hallways wide enough for wheelchairs. The staff were exceptionally helpful, and getting parked and checked in was easy thanks to them. It felt like walking into a TV advert, except it was all real. I’d definitely recommend Cape Town Lodge Hotel!!!

I’ve stayed here twice now, first in December 2023 and again in December 2025. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the king bed is a real bonus. Everyone provided excellent service, especially Mustapha at reception. I’m also grateful to the night security staff, who opened the doors for me at 4am each day so I could go to morning prayer at the Auwal Masjid directly across from the hotel.

The lodge is neat and clean, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The management is poor and rigid, and there’s no tea, coffee or complimentary water provided daily as room service. There’s only one dining room, and the prices don’t feel appropriate. The pool was closed when we arrived, and at 1.3m deep it isn’t suitable for children to play in anyway. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Please stay away.

We travel often and know that disruptions can happen, but the way this was handled showed no care or accountability. We had a confirmed booking and had told the hotel our flight from Amsterdam was delayed. They acknowledged that, yet when we arrived at 2:30 AM, they said our room had been double booked. Nobody had told us about a cancellation or a move. The alternative hotel was no longer available, and while I was pregnant we were left waiting in the lobby for hours without food or water. A room finally opened around 5:00 AM after someone checked out by accident. The concierge said a refund seemed appropriate, but management later refused, citing “non-refundable” terms and claiming goodwill gestures that had never been communicated. This was the worst hotel experience we’ve had, far below even a one-star standard, and the least friendly and reliable service we’ve ever experienced. Please be warned and don’t book here.
