Check Inn Hotel

We had a fantastic 3 day stay and were really impressed. The rooms are comfortable, good value, and have what you need for a few days. It’s easy to walk to an event at the stadium or explore Greenpoint. The front desk staff were lovely, as was the night security guard.

We booked nearly a year ahead for the Cape Town Cycle Tour and called in early February to ask about a slightly later checkout on race day, since we didn’t know when we’d finish. The gentleman said we could arrange it when we checked in on Friday. But once we arrived, we were told late checkout wasn’t possible. That was disappointing after calling ahead to confirm. The room also had no fridge or kettle, things most travellers expect, so the accommodation felt more like a backpackers than a hotel. The Check Inn Hotel has potential, and clearer communication and some improvements could make it a great place, but our stay was below average.

The hotel’s location made it easy to walk to restaurants, the beach, Green Point Stadium and Park, and more. For the price, it’s a good deal. I’d rather have the basic amenities here than pay five times as much elsewhere. The rooms had what I needed and were comfortable, and housekeeping came every day, leaving fresh towels and replenishing shampoo and soap. The downstairs vending machines and food heating area were a big help, with cutlery, serviettes, sugar, and other supplies available for free. Staff were amazing and very accommodating. The one rough morning, cleaning staff woke me early by shouting to each other down the hallway. The rooms aren’t soundproof, so footsteps and voices outside carry, though I didn’t hear guests in the rooms beside mine. I’d definitely return. It’s worth the price, and you can tour CPT at the same time. Thanks to the Check Inn Hotel staff for a great stay. Hope to see you again soon! 🙌🏻💞

The rooms are tiny, but comfortable, and the staff are very friendly. It’s clean and so convenient that I stay here whenever I visit Cape Town. Parking is limited and can be a bit inconvenient during big events.
