Fijnbos Private Manor

We had a wonderful holiday in South Africa, helped along by Debbie, who manages this beautiful Guest House. She went out of her way to help us make the most of our trip, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The rooms were fabulous, clean and comfortable, as were the patio and pool area. It’s in a great location if, like us, you’d rather not stay on the V&A waterfront. I’d gladly recommend staying here.

At Chocolate box Guesthouse, the breathtaking view and spacious rooms stood out, and the quality throughout was exceptional. Our hostess was an amazing, kind person who went out of her way to make us feel welcome. A true 5 star experience for an overnight stay.

Debbie, the manager, is so friendly, helpful and kind that after five minutes you feel like you’ve been friends forever. The guesthouse has beautiful decor and lots of space, with views of the Helderberg and Hottentot mountains. There’s a lovely setting for intimate events, dinners, High Teas and small boutique weddings. This has to be one of the trendiest Guesthouse stays I’ve had in the last three years. Well done 👏, 10 out of 10. A memorable stay with added value and truly excellent hospitality.

The Chocolate Box feels like a treat from the moment you arrive. Olaf and Brad were generous hosts, always ready to help, and their knowledge of local wineries and attractions was really useful. The staff also notice the little things, and the whole stay exceeded what we expected from the reviews. Set on the slopes above Gordons Bay, the place seems to look out over everything. Our room was exceptionally well appointed, with roomy shared areas, and we could choose where to have breakfast. The menu was so good that it’s worth staying long enough to try it all. Cape Town is about 40 minutes down the freeway, too. We’ll definitely be back, and I can’t recommend The Chocolate Box enough.
