Getaway Self-Catering

The apartment didn't feel safe for a family with small children. Some plugs were loose and caused the electricity to trip, cutting power to all the plugs. The place also felt cramped and dated, and there was a mouldy smell when we walked in. On top of that, the service was horrible. The receptionist gave us odd looks when we asked for help and seemed annoyed by our questions. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We were left out in the Cape winter cold when our door shut with all the keys inside. I called the owner, who said he was two hours away and that nobody else could help. He showed no concern and offered no assistance. When I questioned how he was handling the problem, he said I had a bad attitude. We were willing to pay a call-out fee to have the door opened, and he eventually came. He'd said he was two hours away, but arrived within half an hour. He didn't greet us, went straight to the office for the keys, then complained about where we'd parked. He showed no concern for our wellbeing as guests. I'll never stay at this place again. The owner was rude and cold, and I felt unwelcome. I'd tell anyone reading this to stay away from Getaway. GET AWAY.

The staff were wonderful and went out of their way to fit us in at the last minute. They even came back after hours to check us in. The apartment was immaculate, and the grounds were clean and peaceful. Ten thumbs up, I'd highly recommend staying here.
