Happy Home Imhoffs Gift

The house is lovely and sits in a secure area. It could be a perfect little spot, but it was very dirty. There was lots of hair on the floor and basin, and the rooms were dusty. The kitchen items, including the cutlery and plates, were sticky and unclean. The shower was horrific. At night, dogs in the suburb are a nuisance, and drunk people party on the side of the road.

The nearby lake is lovely, and there’s a swimming pool too. The place feels peaceful and safe inside the complex, with pretty rooms and really comfortable beds. The kitchen is shared, and breakfast costs an extra R95 per person. Some rooms use a shared bathroom, though private ones are available. The TV is tiny, but you can use Netflix.

Shassa, my host and manager, was friendly and gave us ideas for things to see and do nearby. The rooms are spacious, clean, furnished well, and free of clutter. It’s a simple self-catering guest house, and the area felt safe and calm. The price is competitive, and they have a rewards scheme that gives returning guests a discount when booking here or at an affiliated guest house again.

I found better value elsewhere. There’s only a bath, no shower, and the hot water pipes are a bit dodgy. The geyser runs on a timer. Grass mats sit in front of the bed.
