Barry and Mina were so helpful and welcoming when my sister, brother-in-law and I stayed at Jambo Guest House. The house had a lot of warmth and history, and it's in a great spot for exploring the area. Breakfast wasn't a full English, but what they served was fresh and plentiful. I'm writing this five years later because friends are heading to Capetown and I realized I'd never left a review after recommending the guest house to them. Better late than never!

The guesthouse has real character, with a distinctive style that feels much more individual than the plain white rooms you find in many hotels. The photos are accurate, the rooms were consistently clean, and the bed was quite hard, though that's personal preference. The neighborhood is quiet but doesn't have much of interest nearby. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, but the same each day with limited choices. For this kind of guesthouse, I expected better juices. The owners were accommodating about our check-in time, though not about breakfast: they wouldn't arrange an earlier meal or a packed sandwich for our safari, even though another couple got breakfast early. That felt like unequal treatment. They were friendly and talkative, but at times a bit pushy about selling bus tickets or local services. That might help if you haven't planned your trip; if you prefer privacy, sharing your day's plans, daily conversations, and personal attention may feel intrusive. I'd choose this place if you enjoy that kind of interaction, but not if you'd rather stay anonymous.

Green Point is a great base, and Jambo Guest House offers much more than a convenient location. We stayed there in December and loved the comfortable rooms and the quaint, luxurious facilities. The contemporary furnishings add a lot to its charm. I'd recommend it as a terrific place to stay in Cape Town.

The owners were absolute sweethearts, and I had a wonderful stay at Jambo guest house. The rooms and facilities felt luxuriously comfortable, with exquisite contemporary decor. A fantastic Cape Town bed and breakfast. I'll be back soon.

Set in the heart of green point, this guesthouse has high ceilings and plenty of antique furniture. It's beautifully furnished, and the owners are friendly. If you're drawn to the old era, this is the place for you.
