Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, Cape Town

The quiet setting on Kloof Street made it easy to reach great restaurants and bars, while still feeling tucked away from the bustle. We loved our spacious, carefully designed one-bedroom suite, and the staff were so kind and helpful. High tea, drinks by the fountain, the buffet breakfast at Oasis, a facial at the spa, and the modern gym all made the stay special. A beautiful property with outstanding hospitality. Highly recommend.

The tea and food were the stars of my afternoon at Mount Nelson. There was a wide range of teas, from familiar favorites to more unusual blends, and each cup was brewed just right. The pastries, scones, and savory bites looked lovely and tasted wonderful. The room felt both elegant and comfortable, with thoughtful décor that made it relaxing to sit in. Staff were gracious and attentive throughout, and I felt well cared for. It was a memorable High Tea that left me feeling pampered, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a special experience.

Wellington welcomed us warmly, then gave us a personal tour and looked after us throughout the stay. That kind of thoughtful, human attention made a real difference. Our room was peaceful, elegant, and full of light. Room service was seamless, and the food was outstanding, from breakfast to dining by the pool. The Mount Nelson feels like a Cape Town legend, and everything during our visit seemed perfectly handled. We couldn’t have asked for more, and we’ll certainly return. Craig, the Tea Master, picked a tea for us after getting to know us a little, and it was fantastic. Thuli took such kind care of us during the service, making sure we were comfortable and happy. We came for afternoon High Tea to celebrate our second anniversary. The food was superb, fun, and definitely enough to leave us full. We were so glad we chose the Mount Nelson. It really doesn’t get better than that!
