Radisson Blu Le Vendome Hotel, Cape Town

The staff were professional and very friendly, and quick check-in took under five minutes. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a Sea View room, with the view from the balcony. You can clearly hear the sea, which made falling asleep to the crashing waves lovely. The hotel has an old school elegance and aristocratic feel. Our room was clean and nice, though dated, and the bed was extremely comfortable, so we slept well. The bathroom was well appointed but could use a renovation. On day 2, the shower had no hot water for some reason. We called reception, went out for supper, and it was fixed by the time we got back. The pool and deck were a nice addition: the pool was clean, we had a great swim, and staff were on hand with swimming tiles and a smile. Parking was easy in the designated lot across the road, which isn’t common in sea point. We had a good stay and would consider coming again. Thank you.

We’re on day four and I can’t fault the hotel. It’s good value for money, and the clean, comfortable rooms work well even if they aren’t the most modern. There’s also a free shuttle every hour to the V&A Waterfront, which is really handy. The service has been great throughout, with staff who are friendly and accommodating. They make all the difference.

The breakfast was amazing, with honeycomb you can cut yourself and delicious smoothies that gave the usual hotel fare a different touch. The pool deck is a good size and well protected. Rooms are great, and most have private balconies, nice for the views and for smokers. What a great experience, definitely worth checking out.

We stayed for 10 days in what seemed to be an upgraded room. The location is good, but I wouldn’t come back, as there are other Cape Town options at this price. The staff were very friendly, though management could deploy them better. I’d have preferred more help at breakfast instead of someone having to chase us down in the lobby each morning to ask how the stay was going. Breakfast was often very busy, with little to no service, and frequently many items were unavailable. The free shuttle was useful, but it failed to show up twice. The shower floor was sloped incorrectly, so the washroom flooded by the door every time.
