The Old Foundry Hotel

We loved our stay here. The beds were super comfy, the location is perfect for walking to the Waterfront in a few minutes, and everyone on staff was really friendly and helpful. Emily at reception was especially sweet and welcoming. The hotel has a distinctive feel, like stepping back in time while still being modern. Breakfast is served in a sit-down restaurant rather than as a buffet, and the coffee was amazing. The room was a little small and the walls were thin enough that we could hear some noise from the neighbors.

I'm in Dubai and can't travel because of the ongoing Middle East conflict, so I contacted the Old Foundry Hotel about two weeks before my upcoming stay to explain and ask for a refund. They refused to be flexible. Other hotels I booked for the same trip understood the circumstances and gave me full refunds, which made this response feel especially insensitive and lacking in basic customer care. I'm extremely disappointed, and based on this experience I wouldn't book with them again.

A quiet, comfortable night and one of the best full night's sleeps we've had in ages made this stay especially good. The Old Foundry is also perfectly located for exploring the city, and breakfast had a great range and quality. Tafa's warm welcome and constant smile made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. This was our second stay at The Foundry, and we'd absolutely recommend it.

Tafadzwa took care of my bags both when I arrived and when I checked out, carrying them up and down the stairs. Once my room was ready, he personally showed me around the studio and explained how everything worked. That level of care made me feel properly spoilt, and it's not service I've experienced at a hotel before. The reception team were friendly too. I was drawn in right away by the Old Foundry Hotel's distinctive decor and layout, with its fun, eclectic feel and attention to preserving the original building. I stayed at the Greenpoint hotel recently.
