I've been staying at the paragon for three years, and the whole building seems to be falling apart. There are cracks in the walls, and the lifts scrape along them as they move. Around 70% of the gym equipment is broken, and there are so many cockroaches trying to get into your bed while you sleep. The guards are the only part that seems to function. Everything else feels hazardous. Do not sleep here.

There's no real view from here, just the back of a very dirty petrol station, and the rooms weren't especially clean. We only had warm water on one day, with no hot water otherwise. The location isn't great, though it does make sense for the many UCT students who stay here. If you mainly need somewhere to sleep between daytime activities, it can do the job.

We moved out and ended up paying less at the Southern Sun in the City. The rooms here were really dirty, with mould everywhere and no hot water. It's noisy too, wedged between a Shell garage and a graveyard. Guys, this is a trap.

I liked the secure entrance and parking, and I had a good time here with friends. Other people mention noise from the large student population, but it didn't bother me. My room had no safe, despite the listing saying each room had one. I travel with a passport and would have liked somewhere secure to keep it. It would be useful to reserve top floor rooms for tourists. Observatory is a neighborhood I love, so please keep it clean, safe, and respectful. The location is handy for the post office, cafes, and places to eat, and I'd consider staying again, though there are other nearby options I'd probably choose first.

We spent two nights here. The views are of either the shabby garage next door or the cemetery across the road, and there isn't much visitor parking in the complex. Security could be better as well. If you're booking for a short holiday, expect noise from both the Paragon generator and the one at the garage next door. It gets loud enough to disturb sleep and the peace, and the fumes affect the apartment air.
