For my first solo birthday trip in November 2025, I had a pleasant stay at the Tokyo Aparthotel in Cape Town. The central location was handy, with restaurants, bars and markets all within walking distance, and the staff were kind. My room was okay, though the TV and YouTube didn’t work well. The rooftop view was lovely, but I was disappointed that alcohol wasn’t allowed, so I couldn’t enjoy it with a drink. Arriving tired after a flight, I found check-in uncomfortable because there was nowhere to sit at reception. They required a R1000 card deposit and refunded it after checkout. I enjoyed the solo trip and would consider staying again. The receptionist was very kind, though I can’t remember her name.
I loved the rooftop views, and the communal pool was always clean and ready to enjoy. I stayed at The Tokyo for five days, and the staff were very kind and always willing to help. The building uses facial recognition access only, which I saw as a plus, and there’s a restaurant for convenience. I’d come back again and again!
The rooftop views are beautiful, and the staff are very friendly. My room was clean and spacious. It’s a wonderful place, and I’d love to come back and stay longer.
A beautiful place, very clean and comfortable. The pool area is amazing, and it was a great experience.
The rooftop and the view from room 1408 were great, and the hotel is well placed in the center. The breakfast restaurant downstairs was nice too. Staff were lovely, reception is open 24 hours, and the entry system felt very secure.
