The location worked really well for getting into the city or heading down the coast, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Our room had private parking, so we could come and go as we pleased. It was clean and had everything we needed, though DSTV on the TV would’ve been nice. The host was fantastic and always a treat to talk to. Breakfast was great every morning, and the lodge was very affordable. Highly recommend.

We only stayed a night, and the rooms were small and fairly basic, but spotlessly clean and neat. Sam and Elmarie really made the visit with how friendly, helpful, and obliging they were. Breakfast was lovely, too. There was some road noise, which was the one downside.

The breakfast was fantastic, with a small buffet of muesli, tea, and coffee, plus freshly cooked eggs with vegetables and even vegan options. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and the rooms were clean and well equipped. There’s a nice outdoor area with a pool and barbecue space. The room was much smaller than described, about 12 square metres instead of 30, and there was no air conditioning, just a small fan. That was tough in 35-degree heat.

The breakfast was tasty, creative, and nicely presented, with a small but good selection and outdoor seating. Shops and restaurants are between the nearby areas, though still an easy walk away. Staff handled check-in and checkout well and tried hard to make the stay pleasant. But they spoke loudly and dragged equipment around from 7 am, often shouting across the courtyard. The noise went on all day and into the night, waking me and disrupting my rest. Management should address it. My studio was also a little strange, with the toilet and shower in an alcove off the bedroom and no door for privacy. The bed was clean and comfortable, but the walls seemed paper thin, so outside noise carried easily.

If you book the right room, you get good value for your money. The staff are extremely helpful and go out of their way to assist. Guests can’t help getting to know each other, almost like a tiny neighbourhood. The owners’ son-in-law adds to the relaxed feel with music around the pool.
