Zevenwacht Country Inn

I really didn't want to leave. The views over the vineyards and estate are spectacular, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and had just the right amenities. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. Our only downside was that the stay was too short.

We had a lovely stay, with spacious rooms, gorgeous views, and a complimentary bottle of wine in the room. The price was good too. I'd stay again.

The restaurant is excellent. The service was warm every time, the food was delicious, and I enjoyed the wine. I highly recommend it and will be back. I was travelling for work and needed a late arrival and a restaurant reservation. Communicating with the Inn was easy, and they replied quickly and accommodated both without fuss. The Cape weather caught me off guard, and it was chilly when I arrived, but the spacious, clean room already had the air conditioning on. I could relax and take in the views before the vineyard gave way to city lights as it got dark.

This is a lovely, quiet spot for a romantic or peaceful break. At night it was very quiet apart from some pleasant frogs clicking away. Our room had a private patio over the vineyards, with Cape Town, Table Mountain, and False Bay in the distance. There was private parking right outside. The room was generously sized, with a huge bed, walk-in closet, roomy bathroom with both a walk-in shower and bathtub, and a separate toilet. There was lots of space for toiletries and clothes, a safe for small laptops and valuables, and plenty of outlets. The free Wi-Fi was enough for email and messages, though its speed varied and may not be enough for streaming. Check-in service was friendly. We were there in winter and used the heating on a couple of chilly nights. The pool was closed for the season, so we didn't use it. Breakfast was included, served at the Manor House restaurant by the lake, a short drive downhill. It had eggs made to order, bacon or sausages, yoghurt, fruit, oatmeal or cereal, and breads with cheese and meats. We also had dinner at the Manor House a couple of times. Its little patio looks over the lake and is a popular wedding setting. They were able to arrange a late checkout at 7 pm, which worked perfectly for our late-night flight. The drive from the Inn to the international airport is about 30 minutes.
