Neethlings Place

The rooms are comfortable, the facilities are great, and the town centre is just a short walk away. It’s a great self-catering option for a family getaway in beautiful Clarens. The house is big, so I’d recommend paying extra for the cleaning service. The lady who comes does a great job.

We had a lovely stay at Neethling's place with 9 adults and 4 kids. The owner was helpful and answered nearly all our questions, and the domestic helpers were good too. The house felt secure, and walking around on the mud roads was fine. The mountain view from the ground floor rooms was beautiful, with glass doors opening onto the grass. Everything was nicely cleaned, including the bathrooms. We were there during loadshedding and had portable emergency lights in each room, plus a gas braai with a hot plate and a gas fireplace. The fireplace could have used a clean inside, but it was a comfort on chilly nights. We were welcomed with a bottle of red wine, too. One problem was the entrance. A big gap between the mud road and the pavement made it really hard to drive in. We had to approach at just the right angle, and missing it could make it impossible to get up and damage the tyres. I think the rain caused the gap and it hadn't been serviced afterward. Apart from that, we loved the place and would happily visit again. 😊❤

You could spend ages on the veranda just looking at the stunning mountains. The house is wonderfully spacious, and it has everything you might need. Highly recommended.

There was room for all 12 adults, and the house had all the useful little things we needed. They even supplied dishwasher powder, which I haven't come across in a holiday home before. With the bottle of wine as well, that's five stars from me.
