The bakery is a real treat, especially the milk tarts, and there’s a great range of baked goods. Add friendly service, excellent coffee and food, and plenty to choose from, and it’s hard to find a better breakfast spot in Clarens. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a healthy breakfast here twice, and both times the staff were polite and attentive. It’s a pleasant atmosphere, and the bakery goods were fresh and delicious.

We stopped at the Courtyard for breakfast while driving through Clarens and really enjoyed both the food and the bakery selection. There was a good variety on each menu. The staff welcomed us, and the place was neat and tidy right in the middle of town. Worth a stop when you’re around the Maluti Mountains and Golden Gate.

Jane kindly cleared up a misunderstanding about a charge on my bill. I’m sorry about that, as I meant no harm, and I hope I can apologise to her in person if I get the chance to visit again. The Courtyard is easily my favourite breakfast place, and the bakery treats are lovely. The team’s service is a real strength.

The food and drinks cover a wide range, and breakfast was delicious when we came back the next day. On our first visit, we tried a chocolate brownie, quiche and custard-filled doughnut. All delicious.
