The English breakfast was excellent and beautifully presented, and the owners were friendly, helpful hosts. This historic building has a lovely old-fashioned atmosphere, which continues in the antique-style room decor. It made for a pleasant stay with good people, and it's a great stop between Johannesburg and Capetown.

We had a very comfortable stay in the pet-friendly unit, which has a lovely enclosed courtyard. The room had all the little extras we needed, and parking was secure. I can highly recommend it.

Mike and his wife were so responsive when we needed a place for the night while travelling from Cape Town to Jhb. Their hospitality was out of this world and showed the values of Ubuntu (humanity). We'll definitely return.

We made a last-minute booking while travelling and Mike welcomed us warmly. Check-in was easy, and the gated parking felt secure. The rooms are spacious and interestingly decorated. I wish we'd had more time to enjoy a drink at Mike's very cute bar. Our host also gave us advice on where to eat. We'd definitely stay at the Barracks again.

We stayed for two nights to explore the beautiful town. The room was large, with an extremely comfortable king bed, and the bathroom was lovely, with a great shower and hot water. I highly recommend The Barracks.
