The owners clearly care about the place, with little thoughtful touches everywhere. They even provide plenty of milk for drinks. It felt safe to us in a statistically dangerous town, with regular patrols by the local security company. The old-world room has kept its history, with tasteful art and some nicely dated kitsch furniture. Much more interesting than the modern everything-collapsible-MDF world. For the price, we were very pleasantly surprised, and the staff were friendly, courteous, efficient, and communicative. A couple of small issues: the bottled water is "prepared," and the shower cubicle is stingy on space with a door that leaks badly. Still thoroughly impressed, and we'll very likely return.

We stayed at The Hoekhuis from 19 till 22 November 2021 and enjoyed every moment. It really felt like a home away from home. The rooms were fresh and clean each day, thanks to Jacky and the cleaning lady. Everything was neat and comfortable, and the service was friendly and professional. WiFi and secure parking for our vehicles were a bonus. I'll definitely come back when I visit Cradock.

The Hoekhuis feels like a home or apartment, more like a place you'd rent than a typical stay. The parking area is far away, but your car is safe at the front of the building too. 🌈 ✨ 😘

It looked like a nice place and was cheaper than the other options. I tried booking online at short notice, but the cancellation payment rules felt scary, so I didn't go ahead. What if I arrived and didn't like it?

A lovely home away from home. The bed was comfortable and the electric blanket was a bonus. Tanie Jackie, the owner, is warm and friendly. Great overnight stop on the way to Gqeberha. ☘️☘️🍽️
