Even with the fire and power interruptions, the team made sure my wife and I were looked after throughout our stay. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the staff were courteous, attentive and helpful. Dumisani and everyone there deserve my thanks for the service. We had a truly commendable staycation at Sea Star Cliff.

My husband and I had forgotten our chargers at home, and the Sea Star Cliff team lent us one for the whole stay and trip. Dumisani and his team made the experience top tier. People say you shouldn't give the highest rating because there's no room to improve, but this really felt like a five-star stay. Thank you, Sea Star Cliff team.

We were still interested in extending our stay on the first night, before we understood the full extent of the problems. The accountant said another night could be arranged at the same rate. But on our final morning, while we were finishing breakfast, Dumisani abruptly told us there was no room for an extra night. That contradiction felt unprofessional and disappointing. There were several problems with the room itself. The wall lights were loose and fused, which seemed unsafe. The spa bath leaked onto the floor, and I slipped getting out and hurt my leg. I can provide photos of the injury. The toilet seat had visible yellow urine stains and felt extremely unhygienic. Dirt and dust in the sliding door track kept it from opening properly. The bed was uneven and uncomfortable because it was made from two mattresses that weren't level. We were also unhappy with how our concerns were handled. Dumisani came across as defensive and dismissive rather than welcoming, and we felt unwelcome for the rest of the stay. At breakfast he seemed noticeably more hostile toward us than toward other guests. My partner manages 58 luxury properties in Camps Bay and works in hospitality, so we have a good understanding of expectations at this level. Our concerns were about basic cleanliness, safety and guest treatment, not unrealistic demands. For a five-star establishment, the experience fell far short. Problems can happen, but the lack of empathy, accountability and professionalism in addressing them made things much worse.

The police closed the access road because of a major wildfire, making it impossible to reach the property. The hotel denied what was happening, ignored our messages and wouldn't allow a free cancellation. They handled the emergency very poorly.

We saw whales from our room, and the view was amazing. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. If you're in the area, I highly recommend starting your stay here!
