100 on Girvan

I checked out and won't be coming back, even though I had been planning to extend my stay to 37 days. The people running the place were difficult about leaving or returning after hours, and there are no gate remotes. On New Year's Day at 12pm, I wanted to go buy a lighter and had to wake them. Instead of opening the gate, they gave me a spare lighter, even though I wanted to leave. If I'd wanted to go out for drinks or come back after hours, it would've been a major problem. They seem old and funny, and the man who looks after the place was upset when a guest woke him to leave after hours. Just before 9 the next morning, as I was heading out, they said it was almost 9. A little after 9, about 2 past 9, he came banging on the door again with an upset face, saying it was after 9, even though I was on my way out. Why keep banging when I'm already leaving? They only run the place. I spoke with the owner on the phone before check-in and it was a different man. You also aren't allowed visitors at all. I'll send this same thing to the owner. The wifi is poor, and the neighbors' chickens on the left squawk all night while the neighbors on the right party and play loud music. The people running the place don't say anything, so you're stuck with the overly loud music. Even on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, you're not allowed to leave. Are they bloody crazy?

The owner was awful and didn't know how to communicate with people.

We had a great stay, with lovely people and great service. The wifi was a bit slow, and we ran into ants, though those things were outside the place's control. All in all, it was a great stay.

We had a splendid time. Aunty Vera and Uncle, thanks for everything, including the service and the way the staff treated us.
