The kitchen had cockroaches, both large and small, along with millipedes. The shower was blocked and the drain smelled. Inside, there were spiderwebs throughout the house, and the garage was dirty, with an old door that wouldn't lock. There weren't proper curtains for privacy either. Other visitors talked noisily outside in the early hours. We stayed one night with family on 05-06 December 2025, and the experience was bad from the start. The place didn't feel welcoming, and the receptionists were rude. It was a nightmare.

Residents around Gem of Manor in Manor Gardens, Durban, are repeatedly kept awake by late-night parties, loud music and rowdy guests. The owners seem unconcerned about the disruption to the neighborhood, local bylaws or the environment. This ongoing noise is hurting nearby residents' quality of life. I strongly advise against staying there, and against becoming part of the problem.

We found the place very clean, quiet, and in a safe area. The staff were so friendly and helpful that we'd happily recommend it to friends and family. Memory and shanice were especially humble and sweet.

Pretty was our host again, and she was friendly and great as always. This was our third visit. We came with my friends Thobeka Radebe, Nwabiss Bheng, and Nokuthul Mjoli, and had a lovely time. We arrived Friday the 14th and are checking out today.

Memory looked after us so well, she's the sweetest hostess and gave us the best treatment. My husband and I had a wonderful weekend here, and we'll definitely book again. MEMORY GIRL, you're a star!
