There were different levels of service around the hotel. At the 315 restaurant, they made my son’s birthday special, but some other staff seemed uninterested or unsure what to do. Room service didn’t bring water after cleaning, even though I asked on two days and was told both times that it was coming. My booking instructions weren’t followed either. I first got a room without the view I’d requested and was moved the next day. The à la carte chicken was underdone and dripping blood. We were told at reception that they didn’t have international chargers, so we charged our phones there. The next day a woman at the same desk asked why we were charging a watch there and said international adaptors were available.

Large groups need better management so other guests don’t feel ignored. The rooms need an upgrade, and the ones with a ...16 number are unfairly small. The food could taste better too. I’d also like a smart TV instead of these blurry SABC channels.

We celebrated my mum’s 80th birthday at the Coastlands restaurant, and it was an amazing day. Intombe, the manager, and her staff made our family group of 30 feel welcome and accommodated us so well. Planning from another city is hard, but working with Ntombi made it much easier. The service was excellent. I’d recommend it to anyone. Thank you.

The food was perfect, and not one of our guests had a complaint. There was plenty of lemon water and fruity drinks, the tables were cleared promptly, and our waitress, SITHOBILE NXASANA, made sure everyone was comfortable with a constant smile and very efficient service. Our group of 28 shared a buffet dinner at the hotel recently and was made to feel like royalty from the moment we arrived. The staff welcomed us and got us to our table quickly. Thanks for a great evening, COASTLANDS. We’ll definitely visit again.
