The rooftop pool on the fifth floor was one of the best parts of our holiday. It was beautiful, clean and well kept, and sitting in the water while watching ships move through the harbour was pure bliss. Our family, five of us in all, had been surprised with a holiday at the waterfront. Our first room had four beds, but staff quickly arranged an extra one, and I was comfortable sharing the main bedroom with my grandmother and aunt. When some appliances didn't work, staff handled it professionally and promptly moved us to a much larger three-bedroom unit with a spacious living area and another lovely view of the sea and harbour. The first room had an incredible harbour view, and there was no wind on the balcony, so we could sit there all night watching the lights and ships. The second room was a little windier, but the views were still spectacular. On calm days we could see the Durban shoreline and harbour clearly, including ships and cruise liners coming and going. I was excited every day. The Durban staff really stood out to me. I hadn't realised how friendly, welcoming and helpful people in Durban are. Everyone smiled, made us feel welcome and was ready to help. It was such a special, relaxing and unforgettable holiday. I'd absolutely return and do it all again.

The harbour and sea views were beautiful, and the rooms were spacious, but there was no maintenance. The lighting was really poor, with half the bulbs missing, there wasn't a single bar of soap, and the towel rails were broken. I tried to tell the staff, but they didn't seem interested. It's a pity, because the rooms could be really nice and the view is worth it.

These apartments are spacious and clean, and the location is lovely. From South Beach you can walk to the city center, shaka marine world, boat rides and city market place. The rooms are incredibly comfortable. Safety is top notch, with someone always on guard, and police and security companies patrolling the area every 2 minutes.

The apartment was a terrible experience. The sheets felt old and a bit damp, some of the furniture was rusty, and the air conditioner didn't work. I even found a cockroach inside. What was advertised wasn't what I got. Unless you're really stuck, look elsewhere.

The rooms were clean and there was plenty of hot water. The balcony view was amazing, and the beach is only a three-minute walk away. Ushaka is about 15 minutes on foot.
