The location in Glenwood’s suburbs is good, with a nice, quiet neighborhood near KwaZulu-Natal University. The rooms were reasonably clean, and having tea and coffee in them was a nice touch. The staff were nice and very helpful, but I wasn’t happy with the hotel’s overall cleanliness. The stairs and other shared areas were dirty, with litter almost everywhere. They need to work on cleanliness, because this place has the potential to be the best in town.

The room was unbearably hot because the air conditioning didn't work. The bathroom smelled of mould, and opening its outside window wasn't an option because a nearby rubbish dump stank too. The online photos were completely misleading. We had a horrible stay, the worst experience ever.

The breakfast was pathetic, with a menu made up of about 80 percent eggs. Some upkeep from management would make the place much more appealing. On the positive side, it’s in a quiet, safe suburb, close to important venues, and The Deck has a range of harbour views. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

I asked for my money back after refusing the room, but the refund never came. The towels were dirty, and the room looked nothing like the online photos. It felt more like a prison than the bright, homey place shown there. Shoddy, disappointing, and a huge waste of money. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, even my worst enemy.
