The kitchenette in my room let me cook and store my own food, which I liked, and breakfast had plenty of tasty options. I was there for six nights on a business trip. The location worked well, with ample parking and good security for my vehicle. Staff were pleasant and helpful. I’d happily recommend it.

Everything else was good, and the place was very clean with friendly owners. The location and cleanliness both get a thumbs-up. I’d have given five stars if the breakfast had been better, so I’m taking one off for that.

Ash was a great host, and we really enjoyed his hospitality. At The Meritus, everything was already in the room and in order, which stood out after staying at other guest houses where we’ve had to call reception for missing things or problems. The place, the room, and the setting were all perfect for us. We can’t complain, and we’ll tell our friends to visit ASH’s lovely place.

The staff and host were helpful, and gave us good tips on things to do nearby. My room at the Mertitus was spacious, with a huge bed, a walk-in shower, and its own kitchenette. I’d stay at the Mertitus Guesthouse again. Thanks for making my holiday in SA safe, simple, and special.

The rooms are lovely, clean, and well organised. The continental breakfast seems aimed at international guests. A more traditional pap, wors and egg breakfast might bring in more South African visitors. We love a king-sized breakfast in the morning!
