Nice location and rooms, but I had trouble with the drains and water both times I visited. On my first visit the hand basin in my room was blocked, so I couldn’t wash my face; I asked to move rooms. In the second room the toilet wouldn’t flush because it had no water, although the shower had water. The plumbing and water supply need work so the place can maintain the standard people expect.

This has gone downhill from the great place it was years ago. Don’t advertise bottomless free coffee at sun1 witbank if there isn’t any, and don’t put TVs in the rooms just for show when they don’t work. Prices keep going up, now over R700 a room, while the service gets worse. My partner has been booking in and out for the past four days as a contractor. Tonight he checked in after 17h30pm and found a dirty, unmade room, so he had to get another one.

The third-floor room I stayed in had several problems. The window rattled all night, and its cover was extremely dirty. The shower drain didn’t work, so water pooled while I showered, and the basin had the same problem.

Fine for a quick emergency stop to rest before carrying on. It has the basics: a bed, shower and toilet.

I had a great stay. The rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
