It was noisy all the time, with knocking on doors from 2am onward. Washed clothes were hanging in the trees, and people walked around half naked while doing laundry and ironing. I didn’t get breakfast because the staff hadn’t been told about it. They’d called to confirm my booking, but it was never logged.

My husband and I had a good stay. The mattress was so comfortable, and the room was spotless and neat. It was spacious, with a wonderfully large ensuite too. Top notch.

The breakfast was delicious, and the staff are really friendly. It’s such a chilled, clean place. I always enjoy coming here and look forward to going back.

There’s wifi and an interior garden where you can have a braai if you like. Breakfast costs an extra 100R and comes as a full meal with fresh fruit, yogurt, egg and marmalade. In the room there’s a kettle and refrigerator, but no other kitchen equipment. There’s a microwave and toaster in the main dining room, though no knife or other utensils there. The room and double bed were both very small, so there wasn’t space to open a suitcase beside the bed, and you need the closets for that. The bathroom is large, but you have to walk through the closets to reach it, and its door is part of one of them, so you can’t close it from inside. The place is just past the market, next to a pub. We didn’t feel welcome when we got back at night.
