The garden was nice, but the coffee and service were disappointing. A small, very average coffee cost R60, which felt like Cape Town pricing. Service was slow, and when we arrived the table was covered in crumbs and food left by the previous guests.

We had a really lovely breakfast at Yellow Aloe Guest Restaurant in Clanwilliam. The garden is beautifully kept, with shady places to sit and sweet little touches that make it feel calm and relaxing. The staff were warm and helpful, and the host made us feel at home. Breakfast was tasty and nicely prepared, too. We’d happily come back to Clanwilliam for the “Take It Easy” breakfast, tea, and another peaceful morning in that garden.

The owners and staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the cook does a great job. Breakfast was excellent, and they now serve dinner as well. Set in historic buildings with a beautiful garden, this guesthouse feels like a little paradise. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous, stunning, beautiful! Everything impressed me, from the reception and room to the staff and food. I had a lovely chat with the owners. I’d definitely recommend staying there, it really has that wow factor and they’re doing it right.

I’ve come back for a third stay, and it’s been really nice each time. The room is excellent, with a view over the pretty, stylish garden. Great breakfast too! 🤗
