La Clé Lodge

The staff and their hospitality made our stay so warm and memorable. Thanks to Ghano and the team for that. My husband and I both thought this was the best hotel experience we’ve ever had. The rooms and shared spaces are thoughtfully done and beautiful, the location is stunning and easy to walk around town from, and the food is excellent.

Gahno and the team were so helpful with recommendations and bookings, and even packed a snack box for our early departure. The property itself is stunning, from the interiors and manicured lawn to the tennis court, paddle boats, and pool. La Clé is just off the main road in Franschoek, on a quiet street. Even the security and gate staff were friendly, and seemed to know to open the gate as soon as they saw us. We had a fantastic stay and will recommend the property again and again.

The lodge had such a welcoming atmosphere, and the rooms were lovely. The staff went out of their way to help us find things to do and make reservations. Breakfast had a terrific range and tasted great. Ian deserves a special mention for being so helpful and making one of the best meals we’ve ever had. This was the best hotel experience of my life.

Melanie and John made our stay with their kindness, personal attention, and heartfelt hospitality. We felt at home right away, though this was a far more elegant home than ours. Thank you both for all your care. We’ll carry the beauty of La Clé with us until we return. La Clé des Montagnes is a stunning place, where natural beauty meets refined design and quiet luxury. The lush gardens and thoughtfully curated interiors show care in every detail.
