Petit Ermitage

James helped us before we arrived at Le Petit Hermitage, sharing useful route details so we could avoid roadworks. Once there, his warm welcome immediately put us at ease, and he stayed helpful while remaining discreet and respectful. The B&B was spotless and tastefully decorated, cosy but elegant. It's an easy walk to the town centre, and we really enjoyed the restaurant James suggested. Breakfast was generous and delicious, with a nice, if hidden, view of the very quiet avenue. We only stayed one night at the beginning of November, but felt so at home that we'd happily recommend it for a short or longer stay.

James hosted us for a fantastic stay. The location is quiet, just off the main street, and there's a lovely pool and garden. Lots of small wild birds came to the feeders, including a hummingbird, which made the place feel very tranquil.

James, the owner, was very friendly, and Noma made a lovely fresh breakfast every day. We had a great stay at “petit Ermitage”. The rooms were cute and clean, but the garden and pool were the highlight for us.

Even with just one night at Petit Ermitage, we left wishing we'd booked longer. James and his team made us feel genuinely welcome, with a warmth and care that stood out. The property is beautiful, thoughtfully styled and spotless. It's peaceful and private, yet only a short walk from Franschhoek's best restaurants and the wine tram. Breakfast was fresh, beautifully presented and among the best we've had. From the small touches in the room to the inviting garden and pool, everything felt carefully considered. We can't recommend it highly enough.
