Petit & Grande Plaisir

We've stayed twice now, at the Protea Apartment and the Grand Plaisir. Both were quiet, immaculately clean, lavish and well equipped, just the place to rejuvenate. Marlicia and Louis go above and beyond and are the best hosts. After 30 years of travelling around the world, Petit Plaisir is among the best self-catering places we've encountered. Can't thank you enough.

We spent three nights at this lovely place. It's very safe and an easy walk into town, and I appreciated that basics like sugar, salt and olive oil were provided. There are a few too many knick-knacks for my taste, and some things feel a little twee. Malicia(sic) reminded me of Hyacinth Bouquet, but she's lovely and has a good sense of humour. I broke an ornament and she was cool about it. Fully recommend the place.

The apartment has all the amenities we needed and a beautiful bathroom, with very good parking. It's in a safe, quiet part of Franschhoek, and the host was kind, attentive and great at communicating.

On a quiet street in Franshhoek, this place had everything we needed for self-catering. Marlicia keeps the cookie jars full of her homemade treats and stocks the fridge with milk, butter and homemade jam. There are also handy cooking basics supplied, which are a nuisance to buy when you're only staying a few nights. Louis and Marlicia are great hosts and know the area well.
