Chambray Estate

The hosts, Mariette and Cindy, were warm and genuinely welcoming, and the room and bathroom were remarkably spacious, fresh, and clean. I think it was the cleanest room we’ve ever stayed in. Everything was carefully thought through and well maintained. We also appreciated the heated pool, the safe location, and how easy it was to get around with Uber widely available. The estate is gorgeous, with beautifully decorated rooms and stunning mountain views. After a large resort that felt mass-produced, the calm, tasteful, non-commercial feel here was a huge relief. Little touches made a difference: umbrellas by the parking, European sockets throughout, Netflix in the room, plush towels, and champagne and flowers to welcome us. Breakfast was excellent, and on Sunday there was even a wagyu burger, a fantastic surprise. If you’re on the fence about booking, take this as your sign. You won’t regret it.

Room 1 was beautifully set up and tastefully decorated, with a view over the vines. Mariette was charming, attentive, and helpful. We only had one night, which was a shame. If we return to South Africa, we’ll make a point of staying at the estate again.

Mariette and Sundy made us feel so cared for. The place is comfortable enough to feel like a second home, and the views are fantastic. Breakfast was mouth-wateringly good. I can’t believe I stumbled across this hidden gem. It deserves a 5 star hotel rating 💖 Hard to leave!

The mountain views across the clean, tidy estate were stunning, and the staff made us feel welcome. Our room was comfortable and well equipped, with its own sunbeds. We liked the little extras too, especially the two umbrellas in each unit. Breakfast was tasty and nicely presented. The place looked and felt luxurious, just as I’d hoped, and it’s only five minutes from the shops. Easily 10s across the board!
