The staff are caring and outstanding, and the place is run by and for Christians, so you’re likely to make friends there too. For a good-value holiday, it’s a wonderful spot just up the hill from Victoria Bay Beach. The buffet breakfast is on the smaller side, but pleasant, with plenty to eat. Supper is limited to an optional meal of the day. Rooms are basic, though the sea-facing rooms have a view you won’t forget. There’s also a TV room, games for kids, a swimming pool and a tennis court.

We swam, played tennis, and walked all over the farm, with plenty for young and old to do. The service was great, the food excellent, and everyone was friendly. Carmel has a special, sweet and peaceful spirit that you can feel throughout the place.

I’ve been to Carmel about five times, and it really is beautiful and peaceful. I was there for the Sunrise service this morning. Kuhle Quta. It’s a great choice for a holiday or weekend away.

We held a wedding here. The chapel and prayer route have the best views. The chapel can fit a maximum of 60 people inside.
