Dawson Manor Guest House

The location is perfect, and the rooms are beautiful. The staff are friendly and very helpful. I’d recommend this lovely place to anyone.

The room was nicely decorated and comfortable, with a big, comfy bed, a fan, and aircon. But several things were wrong: there was no Wi-Fi password posted, the desk was tiny and had no chair, and the only seat was an ottoman. The small fridge made a very loud noise when cooling. The main light blew, the toilet seat was loose on one side, the bedside table knob was broken, and rain dripped loudly outside. On my last night, the remote for the main gate stopped working. Service felt indifferent, with little attention to detail. At reception they copied my driver’s licence, and when I asked why, I was told it was “in case anything is missing from the room.” I was just pointed toward my room. The next morning I asked a kitchen staff member for an iron and ironing board because nobody was at reception. I’m still waiting. When I checked out, I left my keys at the desk and called out goodbye and have a nice day from somewhere nearby. Dawsons could be a great place, perhaps it once was, but the owner seems to have lost the passion for service and left the guest out of the equation. I’ll look for somewhere else next time I’m in town.

John and the staff made us feel at home during our five days at Dawson while our son played U13 Cravenweek at Selborn College. We were close to all amneties, had great breakfasts, and came back to a clean room every day. Keep up the good work, and see you soon!

I like the location because it’s close to all my customers. The food is lovely, with huge portions fit only for a King 😂. The rooms are clean, nothing to fault there.
