Enjoy Guest House

I booked ahead for 15 December 2021 because the pictures made the place look nice and clean, and the price seemed affordable for a rest stop. But when I got there, the room smelled foul and damp, the bedding was dirty, the towels smelled bad, and the shower floor was dirty. The carpet was covered in burn holes too. I asked the owner for another room, but they were fully booked, so I respectfully requested a refund so I could find somewhere else. The owner was rude and arrogant, blamed me for choosing cheap accommodation and refused to refund me. I’ve never dealt with someone so unsettling and unprofessional. Cheap accommodation should still be clean and match its online pictures. I didn’t stay the night because the dirt and smell were too much. I’d highly not recommend it. I wouldn’t have posted this if the owner had been nicer, but her attitude was rotten and threatening. If I could give zero stars, I would. The owner should work on her people skills and be more accepting of customer feedback.

The place could be good for small events, but staying in the room was uncomfortable. There was no chair or work table, so after a tiring day you just sit on the bed. They also have lots of rules, including not allowing you to eat in your room. Sometimes you arrive tired and want to eat while finishing office work, but they won’t let you.

I had a pleasant stay, though something happened that intruded on it. Around 2am, an unidentified man came into the guesthouse without saying who he was. I figured he might be an employee because he seemed familiar with the kitchen.

The room was spacious for two, with a very comfortable bed and pillows that suited me perfectly. The location is central to all sorts of fun things. Mr Ncube, the security guard at the front gate, was so helpful and even carried my bag. Malekani (my spelling is probably off) greeted me and made me feel at home. Siyasanga was a legend too, helping with all my random requests and needs. I highly recommend this place!
