The rooms are great, but the service was poor. The staff were rude, and we waited outside for an hour just to get a code.

I’ve stayed here many times over the years and usually found the facilities and service satisfactory, though nothing special. The central location is convenient for business trips. This most recent visit was a poor experience, though. My room faced Cape Road and was extremely noisy, so I asked reception right away if I could move. The reception lady was cordial but unfriendly, and gave me a sultry, completely unsympathetic “no.” It was hot on the second day, but the aircon was broken. The “handyman” couldn’t fix it and just shrugged, saying it was broken. On top of that, the reception lady charged me for dinners we had already paid for upfront. I insisted they were paid, and the manager later confirmed that they were. The reception lady called to say I’d be refunded, but didn’t apologize. Not a great stay.

The heated indoor pool was a real treat as winter approached. It and the surrounding area were clean, and the water was a lovely temperature. Our family had a very enjoyable weekend here, with friendly staff and a beautiful place. Room number 8 was spacious, comfortable, clean and easy to get to. It had an aircon in each room, the beds were really comfortable, and everything worked. Dinner was the one disappointment. As of April 2024, each meal had a fixed price of R140. My husband got chicken schnitzel with chips, and I had a 200g rump steak with mash and veggies. Neither meal felt worth R140. His portion was extremely small, and my sides were tiny too. The mash was very watery, like a portion of packet Smash made with water, with some pumpkin on the side. I’d suggest eating dinner elsewhere, though breakfast was very good.

The rooms were huge and clean, with plenty of space and everything you need. The aircon and Wifi worked amazingly well, and the staff were so friendly. It’s in a really nice area too. Keep it up, I’d recommend this place to anyone nearby. Thank you.
