The river is lovely to watch from the veranda, and the quiet, peaceful area made this feel like a home away from home. The unit was more comfortable than I expected, with thoughtful finishes and all the security features needed for a relaxed stay. Basie gave us a warm welcome, and I’d happily return and recommend the place. One thing to add: the kitchen needs an oven.

The hosts are kind and really friendly, and it always feels like coming home when I stay here. If you're in Port Elizabeth, spend a night at Swartkops River Retreat. Such a good place.

Every room was clean, and the place has a lovely, home-like feel. I can hardly find the words to describe it. Mr Bassie is a great host, and you won’t regret staying here.

A lovely spot to recharge, with a great view over the Swartkops river. It’s pet friendly, too.

The apartment has lovely style and decor, with a warm, homey feel. The views over the Swartkops River are especially beautiful in the evening. A good fit for a family holiday or a group of friends.
