The Harbour Masters House

Room 8 had a nice view, and the bed was good for sleeping. The rooms are standard, and the shared bathrooms are kept clean. The common areas have nice decor, with a communal kitchen where you can cook if you bring your own food, though I'm not sure the stove works. WiFi is only available in the common areas. It's pretty basic for the price, so don't expect too much. I believe booking directly through island vibe is cheaper than using booking sites.

It's a huge house with a gorgeous harbour view, easy to get lost in. The rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and lovely headboards. Each room is different and has an outdoor terrace. At check-in, they had proper Covid protocols, including signing in and out. A big thank you to Samantha and Sue for welcoming and accommodating us so warmly. The staff made sure everyone was well looked after.

The friendly staff are the only reason I gave this place a 3. I was surprised to find that my room didn't have its own shower, which I'd expected at this price based on other places on Booking.com. I was on the second floor and had to go downstairs, then walk quite a way to the showers in a secluded part of the building. The room had been cleaned, but there was dirt under the bed and the sheets didn't look fresh.

The place has recently been renovated, but the reception lacked hospitality. Be careful with your bags, they go for your luggage. There was noise after 10 o'clock, including from reception itself. I had to explain to them how to confirm the booking. The kitchen wasn't very nice either. The dining room is quite nice, though, and with a table and a couple of things on it, it could be just right. It could be a good place with a professional team, but it doesn't deserve many stars as it is.
