Kathu Hotel

There’s a useful layout for work here, with plenty of room for quick meetings or a temporary office, and the free tea and coffee plus well-stocked bathroom supplies were thoughtful extras. The hotel is clean, and the staff are welcoming and quick to help. As a woman traveling alone, I was uneasy about the dark road to the hotel at night, and the heavy traffic makes turning onto the main road stressful. The pool area needs maintenance and upgrades, and it was disappointing that dinner isn’t served on weekends, which is inconvenient if you arrive late or want to eat in. It’s decent value, especially for business travelers, though access and amenities could be improved.

I'm still here and check out Friday, but wanted to write this now. The hotel meets a good standard, and the rooms are clean and straightforward. There isn't much to be unhappy about. A few things could be better: more breakfast choices, a carport-style shelter for the smoking area when it rains, balconies, and paving outside so vehicles can drive in smoothly. You have my approval.

It works well for business, though a few things have slipped since the rebrand.

We’ve been here several times over the years and have found it dependable. This time we ended up coming unexpectedly after leaving a booked place in Kuruman that was far below expectations. The rooms are compact, but the air con works and the shower is great. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, and we slept well. There was also a good cooked breakfast if you wanted one. The location is handy, just off the N14 and almost opposite Kathu Mall, with its reliable Spur restaurant.
