I stayed in the hostel rather than the guest house, and it worked well for what I needed. The place was clean, I liked it, and the staff were friendly. It gets really cold there in winter, so bring plenty of warm clothes.

Sheri and the staff were pleasant and friendly, and the rooms were clean with towels provided. Graskop is small enough that everything is within walking distance. I paid R720 for two nights for two people in January 2019, which was very affordable. The room had a bedroom, a bathroom with a shower, and a kitchen. There was a double bed and a bunk bed in the main room, plus cable TV that I didn't use. In the kitchen I found a bar fridge, a small microwave, four glasses, cups, plates, bowls, and cutlery.

The staff made a real effort to help guests feel comfortable, and they gave visitors from out of town directions to attractions and other useful information. The cottages are nice and have plenty of sleeping space. There's also a pleasant area for relaxing and preparing food. The bins and braai facilities were cleaned daily, and the rest of the property was kept very clean. Prices are very reasonable.

The foreigners were nice. The other guests were noisy and disrespectful, and left the shared area dirty. The stove and dishes were very dirty, so we couldn't cook dinner in the kitchen or make breakfast the next morning.
