We came away from ordinary life to a quiet, tucked-away spot with breathtaking views, and it was exactly the kind of relaxing break we needed. The house is incredible. From the moment we arrived, these lovely people welcomed us warmly and went above and beyond to make us comfortable.

The road noise was a little loud, but our hosts were superb, friendly and helpful. These weren’t self-catering units, yet they immediately helped us with a braai and utensils. Even the dogs were friendly. Breakfast is a must, and we also bought homemade soaps, flavoured salts and butter. Thanks so much for a very nice stay!

There are just two rooms and a separate cottage here, with a lovely shared area and a bar. The hosts are engaging if you feel like chatting, and the views and hospitality are great. Some holiday places get so busy they feel like the big city again. This one doesn’t.

We had so much privacy and serenity, with spectacular views, and loved the whole atmosphere, including the dogs. Our host was incredibly friendly. We were upgraded for free to the cottage down the hill, and we’re already set on returning, even if we pay a bit extra. The cottage was amazing. It gets chilly and misty up there, but there are heaps of blankets and throws. Shops and restaurants are just down the road, and there are more cosy restaurants with jaw-dropping views a little farther along. If eating out doesn’t suit you, the cottage has a full working kitchen and a beautiful bath. We can’t wait to come back in winter and try the fireplace. The little games and books were interesting too. Very impressed, thank you so much!

Breakfast was delicious: first double cream yoghurt with seeds and coffee, then toast, flapjacks, a great baked potato dish, fried steak strips and eggs. The room was Spitfire, one of two B&B rooms attached to the hosts’ home in the hangar. Both have covered patios, and ours had a small private garden that was perfect for a braai. Their little dogs greeted us wagging their tails, and Kyra showed us in. We had a big bedroom with a double bed, a wooden cabinet with two glass coffee mugs, teaspoons and instant coffee, plus a coffee maker on top. The bathroom had a huge shower, toilet, wash basin and a locker cabinet for clothes, with extra blankets inside. Perfect for an overnight stay!
