The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and everything was clean. We stayed on 4 January 2024, and the house has real potential, but it was poorly maintained. Our shower was missing a glass panel, leaving water across the floor. The main light needed its switch jiggled, the bedside lampshades were loose, and one lamp switch didn’t work. There was a multiplug hanging loosely from the single outlet above the bed. The back garden could be a lovely place for a drink or a chat, but it too needed care. We didn’t mind the self invited guest in our room. The food was only okay at best. I understand Gary is no longer managing Bun Clody, and hope the new manager restores it to what it should be.

The kids could stretch out and watch TV while we caught up on much needed sleep. Our room was lovely, with warm blankets for a COLD evening and a cute en-suite bathroom with a warm shower after a long day on the road. Next time we’ll stay for breakfast. We could smell the delicious dishes being made from our room.

A friendly, homely stop after a long day on the road, with a clean and comfortable family room and plenty of TV channels. The host and staff were polite, and the garden was a lovely spot to relax. The shower was wonderful too. Try the cremora tart, it’s delicious 😜

We had such a great time that we ended up overstaying, and wished we could have stayed longer. Gary was caring and friendly, and he and the staff looked after us like royalty. The rooms were stunningly decorated, and both dinner and breakfast were divine in the beautiful dining hall. What a fabulous welcome and experience! We can’t wait to return on our way back to Jhb via Hanover, and will recommend Bun Clody to all our friends and family. Yoohoo, see yall soon at the weekend!

The lovely hosts made us feel at home, and it was such a relaxing stay. I absolutely loved the wooden ceilings and floors and the beautiful light fittings. A special experience I’d recommend, and I’ll always return.
