La Bastide Guesthouse

The room had no TV, even though brackets were fitted, and the fridge had been taken away for repairs with no replacement. Cracks in the walls and cobwebs and bugs around the place made it feel neglected and as if the room hadn't been cleaned before we arrived. There was also no guidance on whether to report to reception or call someone when entering or leaving. For what I paid for one night, I expected better quality and was quite disappointed.

We booked three rooms over New Years, and all three were great. Samantha was a lovely host. She helped us check in late over the phone and even arranged a late checkout. We had a splendid staycation and really enjoyed the hospitality and service. Thanks for a great time.

The patio was a lovely place to spend most of our time, and the room was beautifully decorated with a cute little touch. The gardens were gorgeous, with two adorable bunnies hopping around, and the pool felt sweet and fairly private while it wasn't too crowded. Our hostess was incredibly friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. A couple of things to know: the shower temperature can be confusing at first, but the pressure is great once you figure it out. Bring shampoo, since they only provide body wash. Also watch your step on the floor, especially on the mats, because they can be slippery. La Bastide was a wonderful place to stay, and after a few small floor and shower maintenance tweaks, we'd happily return.

Not as advertised, and a terrible experience. The place wasn't clean and didn't have all the amenities promised. We left the same night we arrived. Do not book here.
