Magalies Mountain Lodge and Spa

The food was amazing, with every meal fresh, full of flavour, and served with care. The hospitality from Sis Portia and Buti Bheki was just as good. They were warm, welcoming, and attentive without hovering, and made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. Magalies Mountain Lodge has a beautiful setting, great service, and people who make the place special. We had an incredible stay and will definitely return. Highly recommend!

The massages were excellent, but with the hot tubs out of order there wasn’t much else to do. We finished our treatments early and had a long wait for lunch, especially disappointing on a cold day. The tubs were one of the main reasons I booked, along with the massages, as a birthday treat for my mom. Nobody mentioned they weren’t working until we arrived. We wouldn’t have come if we’d known, and no discount or alternative was offered. Booking was frustrating too. I got no reply to my online booking, emails, or calls, and only got through by repeatedly calling the day before. I’d visited before and loved it, which is why I came back, but this time was very disappointing. For the price, it wasn’t worth it. Basic communication would have made a big difference. Future guests should check that all advertised facilities are working before they go, since this wasn’t communicated to us. I wouldn’t return, and would choose another spa next time.

The room was beautifully set up, the massage was great, and we loved the delicious three-course dinner. The staff were really friendly and helpful too. We came to Magalies Mountain Lodge for a romantic date night and enjoyed every bit of it. A proper treat.

My friend and I had a memorable weekend at Magalies Mountain Lodge. The views were gorgeous, the rooms comfortable, and the food delicious. We also really enjoyed the spa. Everything was neat, professional, and well organised from check-in through checkout. The staff work incredibly hard and deserve recognition for being so warm and attentive.
