Villa Paradiso Country Manor

The breakfast was good, but the restaurant and bar were closed during the busiest time of year, so we had to leave the hotel to get a drink or dinner. The bathrooms had foul-smelling water that made the rooms smell like sewage. The rooms were unclean and below 3 star standard, with poor decor, sheets with holes, and towels taken away without being replaced. The hotel has also fallen short on atmosphere, cleanliness, and maintenance. Electrical wires were exposed, bins weren't cleared regularly, some bricks were missing from the steps, and signs were worn down and barely readable. The receptionist overcharged us when we arrived, and the refund was a hassle that still hadn't been sorted by the end of our stay. Villa Paradiso no longer meets 3 star requirements and shouldn't charge 3 star rates. I'm disgusted with my stay.

My mom has found her new favourite restaurant, and I loved it too. It's peaceful and relaxing, with decor that makes you feel at home, and it's wheelchair accessible. The food and venue were fabulous, and the prices reasonable, though the menu is a little small. We'll definitely come back.

We booked a room for 3 people but arrived to find we'd been given 2 rooms, not next to each other, with the expectation that a 9 year old would stay alone. The normal cost for 2 people is R1099, with R300 extra for kids, but they charged me R1950 for 1 night. They wouldn't negotiate further, so we paid extra for a room we never used. The shower water smelled horrible, and the TV picture was so bad we couldn't see anything. There was noise and partying late. We told them we weren't using the extra room, but even though we'd paid for it, they still wanted extra for breakfast, which we'd assumed was included given the high price. The in-house Bar was closed at 15:30. I would be very unlikely to recommend this place.

I had a great time. The management, room attendant, and dining service were all excellent. 5 stars for the team.
