The cottages are set in a peaceful, tranquil spot near Hazyview town, which is convenient. Ours was the large one bedroom cottage, with a spacious kitchen, living room with DStv and netflix, and a patio. It was immaculately clean. The farm has horses, chickens, geese and wildlife, so look out for the black impala. The outdoor braai area got rained on, but the hosts kindly brought us a Weber so we could braai under cover. There's a reception shop with braaiwood and other essentials.

The Wi-Fi went down on our second day, so we couldn't watch cable TV either. Apart from that, everything went smoothly, and the helpful services at Bergdale Cottage added a lot to our stay. Ashley deserves a special thanks for arranging a fantastic full day private game drive with Edward from GAP Tours and Transfers. Mango Cottage was cozy and private, with its own parking space, a very comfortable bed, and a kitchenette equipped for making meals. It's also a short drive to Kruger's Phabeni Gate, handy for early morning game drives. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Kruger area.

The cottages are so spread out that we barely saw other guests, and I was genuinely sad to leave. It's an unbelievably beautiful, serene place, with animals wandering around. The cottages are spacious, clean, comfortable, and stocked with practical kitchen items. Hazyview puts you close to shopping, and Kruger Park is very nearby. The staff were some of the kindest, most obliging people I've met. The phrase “hidden gem” gets overused, but this really is one. I'll most certainly be back!

Bergdale has gone all out to make guests comfortable. The cottage is beautiful, the staff are friendly, and the place feels peaceful and secure. My new favourite place to stay in Hazyview.

I've stayed at Bergdale cottages twice, and both times the place has been superb. The rooms are very clean and the self catering units are well equipped. Definitely a Hazyview gem, and I'd recommend it to local or touring guests.
