Derek was a wonderful host, and Harley, his little dog, was an absolute delight. I loved hearing about the history of the house, too. The cottage was private and homely, far beyond what I expected, and one of the best value stays I’ve had. It felt peaceful and soulful. Just off the N2, it was easy to reach for an overnight stop. After a long drive, I felt at home, slept like a dream in a very comfortable bed, and felt at peace. My only regret is not staying longer. I’ll definitely be back.

The guest apartment is simple and unpretentious, but spacious and immaculately clean. There were plenty of continental breakfast supplies in the kitchen and fridge, and the kitchenette made takeaway meals easy. The comfortable room opens onto a private porch with barbecue facilities, and the spacious en suite has both a bath and a shower. Derek was attentive to what we needed, and his friendly welcome put us at ease as soon as we arrived. It’s good value, private enough, and easy to recommend.

A charming little town with lots of character, and the cottage is well worth a visit. It had exactly the amenities we needed for an overnight stay, and it’s pet friendly too. The host was incredibly accommodating.

Wi-Fi was a bit of a problem, though it wasn’t a major issue. Derek was such a friendly, helpful host that his kindness more than made up for it. Nice spot.
