A really comfortable, clean spot with a beautiful private garden. The hosts were friendly and accommodating. It’s just outside the main area of Hermanus, and we’ll definitely be back.

The owner’s kindness really made my solo stay at Anchor’s Rest feel personal. He shared ideas for the area and even checked in after my whale-watching trip to hear how it went. I stayed in the two-bedroom villa, which was roomy and cozy, and the peaceful seaside setting made it easy to unwind. A coastal hiking path runs right across the road, from the New Harbour toward the waterfront, so I enjoyed long walks with ocean views. Hermanus doesn’t have Ubers, so you need to arrange a taxi and be able to call them. I used TukTaxi. It takes a little planning, though the area is walkable and I didn’t mind. I’d happily come back.

We were here for a friend’s 50th birthday and had such a good weekend. The rooms looked lovely, were spotless, and had really comfortable beds. Sean and Karien were wonderful hosts, always ready to help. A peaceful little place, and we’ll definitely return.

Karien and Sean made us feel so welcome and were happy to help with everything. Anchors Rest is spacious, private, clean and tidy, with everything we needed, and all the amenities are within walking distance. We had a magical weekend and it felt like being at home. Thanks for such a lovely getaway, the Els family can’t wait to come back. xxx

We had 13 guests for my fiance’s 50th birthday weekend, and Anchors Rest worked perfectly for a group. The accommodation was pristine and very comfortable, with care given to the details. Sean and Karien went out of their way to make the weekend feel magical, and nothing seemed like too much effort. Highly recommend it.
