My standalone cabin was nicely decorated, with a big bathroom and walk-in shower, and the bed was super comfy. There was also a large bottle of water and a bottle of wine included free in the room. Edmarie, the manager, was such a lovely person. The cottage itself is lovely, with private parking at the back. It’s very close to the cliff path. The only downside is the 15-20 minute walk to the centre, though it’s a great location if you don’t mind the distance.

The rooms are lovely, and breakfast is really delicious. Just bear in mind that check-in and breakfast aren’t available until after 8 a.m., which could matter if you’re arriving or leaving early. They’ll suggest restaurants if you ask, and it’s nice of them to recommend local places. However, the suggestions are away from the city centre. Before checking whether you want to go, they may book a table for a particular time and arrange a taxi, which you have to pay for. If you’d rather choose for yourself or eat in the city centre, it may be easier to look on Google Maps. The property is still really nice and comfortable.

The host takes care to help guests get back safely after an outing. If you’re uneasy about walking back from dinner, just message her and she’ll arrange a trusted taxi to collect you. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, and the location is perfect, right across from the cliff path leading to the centre. Well recommended!

The peaceful garden was easy to reach directly from our comfortable, well-kept, thoughtfully equipped room. The location is ideal, right across from the famous cliff path for walks and whale watching, with restaurants and shops just a short stroll away. Breakfast was excellent each morning and a real highlight. Our host was incredibly kind and always ready to offer advice or help. Cliff Cottage combines a great setting, warm hospitality and excellent value. We’d gladly stay again.

The owners were so welcoming, and the cottage has a lovely traditional feel right on the beach. Our room was nicely furnished, the beds were comfy, and we slept really well. Breakfast was delicious. They also have a generator for load shedding, and the internet was super fast. I'd definitely recommend it for a stop in Hermanus!
